Star Trek: Discovery, Season 2

The crew will join forces with USS Enterprise to investigate seven unknown red signals and the appearance of a being called the Red Angel. The crew will have to work together to uncover the mysteries and their origins.


Good Omens

Release date: Early 2019
Stars: Adria Arjona, Ilan Galkoff, Michael Sheen

A tale of the bungling of Armageddon features an angel, a demon, an 11-year-old Antichrist, and a doom-saying witch.


Nightflyers, Season 2

Release date: Early 2019
Stars: Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Jodie Turner-Smith

Set in the year 2093, Nightflyers is a psychological thriller that follows a team of scientists aboard the Nightflyer, the most advanced ship ever built, as they embark on a journey to find other life forms. Their mission takes them to the edge of the solar system, and to the edge of insanity, as they realize true horror isn’t waiting for them in outer space-it’s already on their ship.

Not much is known about Season 2, but it was announced that there will be opportunities to dig a bit deeper into the world.


The Expanse, Season 4

Release date: Early-Mid 2019
Stars: Steven Strait, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper

A police detective in the asteroid belt, the first officer of an interplanetary ice freighter and an earth-bound United Nations executive slowly discover a vast conspiracy that threatens the Earth’s rebellious colony on the asteroid belt.

About season 4, showrunner Naren Shankar says: “One of the things that seems pretty clear: it’s going to be another blood-soaked gold rush that’s about to happen, because you’ve got an entire species and several societies that have defined themselves on the fact that the solar system is all they’ve got, that those resources are what they have.”


Cosmos: Possible Worlds

Release date: March 3
Stars: Neil deGrasse Tyson, Stoney Emshwiller, Piotr Michael

An exploration of our discovery of the laws of nature and coordinates in space and time.

The new season of Cosmos will be hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson and it will premiere at the beginning of March. The series will consist of 13 parts, which will explore previously unknown worlds and those that we may potentially inhabit one day, transporting the viewers to some of the farthest reaches of the universe.


Stranger Things, Season 3

Release date: July 4, 2019
Stars: Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Winona Ryder

The third season of the popular show Stranger Things will be set in 1985, less than a year after Season 2’s events. The showrunners said that “they’ve shut the door on the Mind Flayer, but not only is it still there in the Upside Down, it’s very much aware of the kids, and particularly Eleven … Now it knows that she’s out there.”


Star Wars: The Mandalorian

Release date: Late 2019
Stars: Pedro Pascal, Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte, Gina Carano

The Star Wars series should follow “the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic…”. The show will be set seven years after Return of the Jedi. It’s speculated that there will be 10 episodes and the budget will be around $100 million.


Star Trek (With Captain Picard)

Release date: Late 2019
Stars: Patrick Stewart

The unnamed TV show was announced by Patrick Stewart at a convention last August. The story will be about a new chapter of Captain Picard’s life, after the events of The Next Generation. Stewart also said that he is “excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him. Seeking out a new life for him, when I thought that life was over.”


His Dark Materials

Release date: Late 2019
Stars: Dafne Keen, Tyler Howitt, Ian Peck

His Dark Materials is one of the supreme works of imaginative fiction for both children and adults published in the 20th century. Northern Lights introduces Lyra, an orphan, who lives in a parallel universe in which science, theology and magic are entwined. Lyra’s search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and turns into a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. In The Subtle Knife she is joined on her journey by Will, a boy who possesses a knife that can cut windows between worlds. As Lyra learns the truth about her parents and her prophesied destiny, the two young people are caught up in a war against celestial powers that ranges across many worlds and leads to a thrilling conclusion in The Amber Spyglass.
